Minutes of Field Township’s Regular Board Meeting August 11, 2015 
The August Field Township regular board meeting was called to order by Chairman Keith Aho at 7:03
pm on August 11, 2015 at the Field Town Hall.
Present: Supervisors Aho, Chapman, Fulcher, Treasurer Ellie Brunner, Clerk Pat Chapman
Absent – Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann
The July 14, 2015 regular board minutes were read. Supervisor Fulcher made a motion to
accept the minutes, seconded by Supervisor Chapman. Motion carried unanimously.

Treasurer’s report received from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:
Beg. Bal: $20,907.31 Ending Balance $46,553.92
Receipts: $28,801.24 Outstanding Checks: $456.99
Expenses: $3,154.63 Bank Balance $47,010.91

Motion made by Supervisor Fulcher, seconded by Supervisor Chapman to approve net pay distribution
report and authorize payment of claims. Motion carried unanimously.

Committee Reports:

Ambulance – Supervisor Chapman reported on the August 3, 2015 ambulance meeting he attended. The ambulance service is in process of implementing a new iPhone pager service. Don Potter reported on the Vermilion Fire Brigade which has three boats which are equipped with fire and rescue EM equipment. Training for new EM staff followed the meeting.
Fire– Supervisor Chapman reported on the July 25, 2015 fire meeting he attended. Cad systems for fire trucks were installed – $2000 per truck. Two volunteers are needed to attend the Vermilion Fire Brigade meeting to be trained to drive boars. Water from different resources having dirt, scale and sand caused clogged filters, hoses and equipment. A city home with gas leak could have caused fire and explosion but quick action by the department averted problems.

Roads and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported the brushing of township roads was completed by Pete Glowaski. He also shared a quote from Gopher Sign Company for 245 aluminum 911 signs at $9.31 each for a total of $2,280.95. Supervisor Chapman a motion to order the signs from Gopher Signs ,installation pending. seconded by Supervisor Fulcher, motion carried unanimously. Supervisor Fulcher will make contacts for installation which might cost $10 per sign.

Hospital – In his absence Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann emailed a report to the clerk.
The hospital board approved advancing to the next stage of the nursing home renovation which would include schematic design, site layout, floorplan options, field verification of existing conditions. Also, requesting proposals from construction managers. This stage will take 8 – 10 weeks. There is financial assistance available to rural nursing homes.

Cemetery – The grass seed has not germinated. P & M Construction finished the work on the entry. Charlie Scott, Deputy Clerk Susan Rebman and Chairman Keith Aho will work on the cemetery map. Supervisor Chapman made a motion to increase the coverage of the Little Fork Lutheran Church at the cemetery to $100,000 for a premium of $259. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously.

Joint Powers– No report.

Planning and Zoning – The clerk was instructed to send a letter to Reino Lahti and Jim Enzmann to ask for a report of resolution concerning the fence issue. The board will take action on this at the September meeting.

Old Business: Supervisor Fulcher reported on progress of changing the spelling of Wein Road to Wien. Linden Grove did not support the change.

New Business: No report.

The clerk announced the next regular board meeting will be September 8, 2015 at the Field Town Hall.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to adjourn at 8:15 p.m. Motion seconded by Supervisor Fulcher.
Motion carried unanimously.
