Minutes of Field Township’s Regular Board Meeting July 8, 2014

The July Field Township regular board meeting was called to order by Chairman Keith Aho at 7:02 pm on July 8, 2014 at the Field Town Hall.
Present: Supervisors Aho, Chapman, Fulcher, Clerk Pat Chapman and one guest.
Absent: Hospital Rep. Mike Enzmann, Treasurer Ellie Brunner (met with clerk prior to meeting)
The June 10, 2014 regular board minutes were read. Supervisor Fulcher made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Supervisor Chapman. Motion carried unanimously.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:
Beg. Bal: $ 18,465.93 Ending Balance:$15,971.29
Receipts: $40.00 Outstanding Checks: $324.26
Expenses: $2,534.64 Bank Balance : $16,295.55

Motion made by Supervisor Fulcher, seconded by Supervisor Chapman to approve the treasurer’s
report, net pay distribution report and authorize payment of claims. Motion carried unanimously.
Public Comment :Reino Lahti presented to the board a copy of the letter he had given Jim Enzmann stating he was formally declaring the dispute over lack of fencing is not being settled so the town board was asked to view the fencing. The clerk will send a letter to Jim Enzmann stating at the next board meeting (August 19, 2014) the board will establish a time to inspect the fences between the properties.

Committee Reports:
Ambulance – Supervisor Chapman gave the June report: May runs – 24 including 4 transports, 3 no transports and 2 ALS intercepts. June runs to date – 6 including 3 transfers. Training for June was held and consisted of accident scene safety and procedures. The May 31st open house was well attended.

Fire- No report

Roads and Bridges – Supervisor Chapman made a motion to hire Pete Glowaski to brush the township roads. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously. Supervisor Fulcher will contact Mr. Glowaski.

Supervisor Fulcher reported Gary Brunner had completed his work (gravel and blading on Riddell and Neva Roads) and it was well done.
Hospital – No report
Cemetery- Supervisor Aho will talk to Jay Brunner about building a shed. Trinity Lutheran Church of Cook is planning to host a service at the cemetery in early September. The clerk will find out more information and possibly the township and church can combine forces to celebrate the 100th anniversary.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to solicit bids to repair the ceiling , floors and painting the interior of the church. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously.
Joint Powers- No report.
Planning and Zoning – Rick Pearce, a science teacher from Northwoods, has expressed interest in using the 50 acres owned by Field Township next to the school for an outdoor learning center. He will need to present his plan before the board and the issue of liability will be addressed also.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to approve the slate of judges for the Primary Election, August 12, 2014 and the poll hours of 7 am – 8 pm. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously.
Supervisor Fulcher reported on the June Short Course. The morning was review and the afternoon focused on the duties of the treasurer. The State Auditor discourages using debit cards due to the lack of protection – credit card caps liability for unauthorized use.
The clerk announced the next regular board meeting will be August 19, 2014 at the Field Town Hall due to the Primary Election on August 12.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to adjourn at 8:22 p.m. Motion seconded by Supervisor Fulcher.
Motion carried unanimously.
