Minutes of Field Township’s Regular Board Meeting June 9, 2015

The June Field Township regular board meeting was called to order by Chairman Keith Aho at 7:00 pm on June 9, 2015 at the Field Town Hall.
Present: Supervisors Aho, Chapman, Fulcher, Clerk Pat Chapman, Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann
Absent: Treasurer Ellie Brunner
The May 12, 2015 cemetery and regular board minutes were read. Supervisor Fulcher made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Supervisor Chapman. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion made by Supervisor Chapman, seconded by Supervisor Fulcher to approve net pay distribution report and authorize payment of claims, including Earth Effects for $2,790. Motion carried unanimously.

Committee Reports:

Ambulance – No report
Fire – No report.
Roads and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported Earth Effects filled and graded holes on the South Riddell Road. The beaver dam had been rebuilt and was torn down. The Three Bridges Road signs are up. At the next meeting Supervisor Fulcher will have further information about 911 signs for the township.

Hospital -Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann reported Kabetogama has an appointed seat on the board, to be up for election in 2018. Cook Hospital revenue for Nursing Home Medicaid patients will remain the same but expenses will be reduced by approximately $24k monthly beginning Jan. 2016. Minnesota Leg. passed Medicaid payment reimbursement for Critical Access Hospitals. A proposal was presented to proceed with the Nursing Home reconstruction to meet current requirements with the stipulation there be no levy increase. It was passed unanimously with 11 of the 15 board members present.

Joint Powers – Chairman Aho reported the Field/Northwoods School Forest committee is working on securing grant money.
Planning and Zoning – No report.
Cemetery – Supervisor Aho reported grass is coming up where it was recently seeded. He has a new employee at the mill who will mow the cemetery and hall. The insurance policy for the township was reviewed and Supervisor Chapman made a motion to up the church coverage to $100,000 and $6000 for church property. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously.
Supervisor Fulcher shared quotes for windows for the church from CBC. Further quotes were recommended by the board. He also presented a quote from P&M Construction for repair of the church front entry for $820. A motion to accept the proposal made by Chairman Aho, seconded by Supervisor Chapman. Motion carried unanimously.

New Business:

Supervisor Fulcher attended the SLCAT meeting in Greenwood Township and shared a survey asking if the MN State Legislature were to relieve your township from unwanted mandates what would be your top three? October 28 the SLCAT meeting will be in Cotton

The clerk announced the next regular board meeting will be July 14, 2015 at the Field Town Hall.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to adjourn at 8:42 p.m. Motion seconded by Supervisor Fulcher.
Motion carried unanimously.
