The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., April 9, 2019 at the Field Town Hall.

The minutes of Field Township’s regular and re-organizational board meeting held March 19, 2019 were read and stand as presented.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:
Beg. Balance: $ 83,758.62 Ending Balance: $69,040.25
Receipts: $572.37 Plus Outstanding Checks: $211.91
Disbursements: $15,290.74 Total Per Bank Statement: $69,252.16
Motion made by Supervisor Chapman, seconded by Supervisor Fulcher, to approve the treasurer’s
report, claims and net pay distribution report. Motion carried unanimously.
Fire – Supervisor Chapman shared the updated mutual aid fire agreement. He will provide copies to the other supervisors for their input.
Ambulance – Supervisor Chapman reported effective April 16, 2019 Tina Rothleutner will be the new ambulance director. In January, 2019 there was one ambulance call in Field, zero in February.
Road and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported S. Riddell needs gravel and grading. The road review will be May 14.
Hospital – Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann reported Julie Gerzin was hired as assistant CEO and will report directly to the Board of Directors. The attorney has determined that the hospital can not provide funds or assistance for a day care facility. Without financial support from the hospital the Daycare Committee is being disbanded. The hospital apologizes as the committee was organized due to a hospital need to help hire and retain employees by offering the service near the hospital.
Cemetery – The cemetery inspection will be May 14. Chairman Aho received donations of $2000 designated for restoration of the Little Fork Church. Supervisor Fulcher made a motion to authorize Treasurer Brunner to purchase a plaque which would list all the previous and present donors to the church project. Seconded by Supervisor Chapman. Motion carried unanimously.
Joint Powers Board – Chairman Aho reported the DNR needs 25% of the $10,000 for the school forest trail in cash before they proceed with their grant. Chairman Aho made a motion to match a donation from the NorthWood’s School for $1000 for the project. No money will be exchanged until the grant is in place. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously
Planning and Zoning – No report.
Supervisors Aho and Fulcher attended the MAT Short Course in Grand Rapids. The new director of MAT, David Hann, was present. Presentations were given on beavers and fire contracts.
Also, MNDOT discussed their maps. Previously, the township had offered corrections to the maps but they were still not recognized.
Supervisor Fulcher attended the St. Louis County Assoc. of Township meeting March 27 in Cotton.
Current environmental information addressing septic systems was presented. AEOA will help homeowners with applications to the Septic Loan Program for systems causing threats to public health.
The next meeting will be the Board of Appeal , April 30, 11 am – 12 noon at the Field Town Hall.
May 14, 2019 the board will meet at the cemetery at 6 p.m. for inspection, followed by road review with the meeting re-convening at the town hall.
Supervisor Fulcher made a motion to adjourn at 8:41 p.m. Seconded by Supervisor Chapman.
