Field Township Regular Board Meeting August 18, 2020
The meeting was called to order at the home of the Clerk (to facilitate a Zoom meeting) at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Supervisors Keith Aho,(via Zoom) Tom Chapman, Keith Fulcher, Treasurer Ellie Brunner, Clerk Pat Chapman, Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann
The minutes of Field Township’s regular board meeting held July 14 ,2020 were read and stand as presented.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:
Disbursements: $5,071.26 Check numbers 6170-6190
Motion made by Supervisor Chapman, seconded by Supervisor Fulcher , to approve the treasurer’s Minutes of Field Township’s Regular report, claims and net pay distribution report. Motion carried unanimously.
Fire – No report.
Ambulance– Supervisor Chapman received reports from May, June and July. The fire hall remains closed to the public due to COVID – 19. There are a lot of open shifts due to lack of staff. In May Field had 4 runs and 2 in July. As of July there are 15 EMTs, 12 active. There are 5 First responders and 8 are active.
Road and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported the roads are in good shape.
Hospital – Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann reported the Heiam Foundation held a virtual auction this year. Doctor Hoffman, a new physician, will be seeing patients in Cook, Tower and Floodwood. Scenic Rivers hired 2 new Social Workers for behavioral health counseling.
Cook Hospital has tested 14 COVID-19 positives – 4 from Iowa, 1 Indiana and the rest Tower, Soudan and Britt. Cook and Orr have 1to 5 positives each.
Cemetery – Chairman Aho reported paperwork and surveying need to be completed.
Joint Powers Board – Chairman Aho brought up the point that if the Togo Correctional Facility is closed it will affect work on the school forest.
Planning and Zoning – No report.
Hall – Supervisor Fulcher purchased 4 new tables for the hall for a cost of $299.07. He will check into the cost of 10-12 new chairs.
Broadband – Supervisor Fulcher made a motion to approve payment of $12,384.00 for the Paul Bunyan Broadband grant application. Seconded by Supervisor Chapman. Motion carried unanimously.
Supervisor Fulcher reported the District 10 MAT meeting is August 27 via zoom at 6 pm.
There was also discussion about sending out postcards to township residents notifying them of voting hours for the November election. Or should the money be spent for Face Book posts and information also put on the website? Supervisor Fulcher will have further information for the September meeting.
The next regular board meeting will be 7 pm, September 8 , 2020 at the Field Town Hall.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to adjourn at 7:48 p.m.. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher.
Motion carried unanimously.
