The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., August 21, 2018 at the Field Town Hall.

Present: Supervisors Keith Aho, Tom Chapman, Keith Fulcher, Treasurer Ellie Brunner, Clerk Pat Chapman, Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann.

The minutes of Field Township’s regular board meeting held July 10, 2018 were read and stand as presented.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:

Motion made by Supervisor Chapman, seconded by Supervisor Fulcher to approve the treasurer’s report, claims and net pay distribution report. Motion carried unanimously.

Committee Reports:

Fire – Supervisor Chapman reported there were 5 fire calls in July. Pump operations training was held and also there was training and re-stocking on the new truck.
Ambulance – Supervisor Chapman reported there were 24 calls and 11 transfers. July 22 was the training at Elbow Lake Lodge which included training in water rescue, navigation of tough terrain with a patient
and use of stair chair on multiple steps.
Road and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported the brushing was done on township roads and gravel
was spread on Neva Road. He will contact Julie Grahn with questions about noxious weeds.
Hospital – Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann reported he received his advanced certification. A new physician will begin working at Scenic Rivers in September. Dr. Johnston is retiring Dec. 31. The hospital may be interested in creating their own day care services.
Cemetery – Chairman Aho reported Ashawa Chapel has pews that might work in the cemetery church.
Jeff Elliott will survey the cemetery in September. A motion was made by Supervisor Fulcher, seconded by Supervisor Chapman to give Jay Brunner authority to replace the back door at the cemetery church with a wheelchair accessible door. Motion carried unanimously. Treasurer Brunner reported the material had been delivered to the cemetery for the ramp.
Joint Powers Board – Chairman Aho reported the bridge is designed for the school forest and build date scheduled for this fall. The township sent funds from the Lake Country Power Operation Roundup to the 2142 school district so the lumber for the bridge can be ordered.
Planning and Zoning – Chairman Aho attended a meeting in Orr on July 18 concerning the St. Louis
County Comprehensive Plan.
Hall – The windows have been ordered. The old fridge was donated to the Northwood’s Riders Club. Chairman Aho reported a new fridge has been donated to the township.

Old Business:

The District 10 meeting is August 30 in Twig. October 6 is the legal seminar in Cotton.

New Business:

There was discussion about internet access in the community. Supervisor Chapman shared there are future plans to conduct an area survey to find out residents needs and input concerning internet use.

The next regular board meeting will be September 11, 2018, 7 pm at the town hall.
Supervisor Fulcher made a motion to adjourn at 8:03 p.m.. Seconded by Supervisor Chapman.
Motion carried unanimously.
