The February 18, 2020, Field Township Regular Board Meeting and Board of Audit was called to order by Chairman Keith Aho at 7:00 pm at the clerk’s residence.
Present: Supervisors Aho, Chapman, Fulcher, Treasurer Ellie Brunner, Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann, Clerk Pat Chapman and one township resident.
The January 14, 2020 regular board minutes were read and stand as presented.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:

Motion made by Supervisor Fulcher, seconded by Supervisor Chapman to approve the treasurer’s report, net pay distribution report and authorize payment of claims. Motion carried unanimously.

Road – $4,000
Fire – $8,000

For a total of $25,000. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Aho made a motion to recommend the following levy of $49,000 for 2020 payable in the year
2021 at the annual meeting:
General – $22,000
Road – $6,000
Fire – $8,000
Ambulance – $7,000
Cemetery – $2,000
Hall – $4,000
Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously.
Ambulance – Annual meeting February 24 in Cook. Supervisor Chapman reported there were no runs in Field in January.
Fire – Annual meeting February 24 in Cook.
Roads and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported the roads were plowed.
Hospital– Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann reported Fairview in Hibbing will supply an imaging specialist 2 days weekly to perform ultrasound exams. A radiology manager has been hired. The Cook Hospital received its stroke certification.
Cemetery – No report.
Hall– The electric bill has been high. The kitchen serving window needs to be shut with the foam sheet.
Joint Powers Board – Supervisor Fulcher made a motion to accept the bid from Scheff Logging to log the school forest before May 31, 2021. Seconded by Supervisor Chapman. Motion carried.
Planning and Zoning – No report.
Broadband – Elizabeth Chapman gave an update on the broadband project – There has been positive input from the surveys. The board approved a post card to be sent out to township residents and also a social media campaign reminding them of the survey and a broadband presentation to be held at the Annual Meeting.
Supervisor Fulcher contacted MATIT and added the cemetery shed( $6000) to the insurance policy. The clerk will contact them and add the mower. ($2000).
- The 2020 Annual Meeting Agenda was discussed. Supervisor Fulcher reported on the St. Louis County Assoc. of Township meeting he attended.
- The PNP election was discussed and the reimbursement.
- The refugee issue for the county was tabled until May.
- The clerk reported the PNP is March 3, 2020 voting 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. The Annual Meeting is March 10, 2020 with voting from 5-8 pm and meeting to follow at the town hall.
- The re-organizational meeting will be March 17, 2020 7 pm at the town hall.
- The Board of Appeal will be held at the town hall April 28, 2020 11-12.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to adjourn at 8:54 pm, seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously.
