Field Township Regular Board Meeting December 8, 2020
The meeting was called to order at the home of the Clerk (to facilitate a Zoom meeting) at 7:00 p..m.

The minutes of Field Township’s regular board meeting held December 8 ,2020 were read and stand as presented.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:
Disbursements: $3,281.42 Check numbers 6255-6268
Motion made by Supervisor Fulcher, seconded by Supervisor Chapman , to approve the treasurer’s report, claims and net pay distribution report. Motion carried unanimously.
Committee Reports:
Fire – No report.
Ambulance – upervisor Chapman gave the ambulance report for August, September and October. Due to Covid-19 the hall is closed. A new EMR was hired the end of August. A Zoom EMT class has a class size of 10 with 7 agreeing to sign on with Cook Ambulance. There were 4 ambulance runs in Field Township over the three months.
Road and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported the roads are in good shape. South Riddell will need attention in the Spring.
Hospital – Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann reported there are no residents with Covid 19 at the Care Center currently. But there are staff testing positive which requires testing staff and residents twice a week. The Orr Ambulance issue is not resolved. The NE Healthcare Regional Preparedness group is receiving 3900 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. This will be distributed among all the hospitals in NE MN.
More shipments of the vaccine will be coming.
Cemetery – A motion was made by Supervisor Chapman, seconded by Supervisor Fulcher to approve Bailey Conger putting battery operated lighted candles in the cemetery church starting Christmas eve for twelve days. Motion carried unanimously. Sexton Knutson reported he will resume searching for markers in the spring. He has tried to contact Warren Mllaker but has not been able to communicate with him.
Joint Powers Board – Chairman Aho reported logging has been started on the school forest with about 6 loads taken out. There could be 20-25 loads total. DNR is ordering 100 transplant trees that students can plant. The 1 ½ mile trail will be open to the public with educational displays.
Planning and Zoning – No report.
Hall – Supervisor Chapman reported Joel Knutson had pointed out the roof on the kitchen addition of the hall needs checked and repaired. Bids will start to be requested for repair of the addition roof or the whole roof if deemed necessary.
Broadband – Elizabeth Chapman received a brief report of a federal grant being made available possibly for our area. She will check further with Paul Bunyan.

New Business:
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to pass Resolution 12-8-20 to designate Field Town Hall as the polling place for Field Township in 2021. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Resolution passed unanimously.
Supervisor Fulcher reported on the MAT Conference he attended virtually. There is a deficit in the State budget so either taxes will be raised or revenue cut. He also attended the ST. Louis County Assoc. of Townships meeting where concern was also expressed about the budget. There are questions about the Township’s Annual Meeting on March 9. Can they be held in person? Will the vaccine change events?
The next meeting will be January 12, 2021 7 pm at the Chapman’s.
Supervisor Fulcher made a motion to adjourn at 8:20 p.m.. Seconded by Supervisor Chapman.
