The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., June 12, 2018 at the Field Town Hall.
Present: Supervisors Keith Aho, Tom Chapman, Keith Fulcher, Treasurer Ellie Brunner, Clerk Pat Chapman, Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann and two township residents.
The minutes of Field Township’s regular board meeting held May 8 ,2018 were read and stand as presented.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:

Motion made by Supervisor Chapman, seconded by Supervisor Fulcher to approve the treasurer’s report, claims and net pay distribution report. Motion carried unanimously.
Fire – Supervisor Chapman received a report from Marylin Hannan for the month of May. There were two fire calls. There was training on pump apparatus. The department would like to acquire Wildland fire gear.
Ambulance – Supervisor Chapman received a report from Marylin Hannan for the month of May. There
were 11 emergency calls and 3 transfers. The crew had training on heart monitor, airway and lucas device. During EMS week the crew provided the community with bp or blood glucose testing.
Road and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported the roads were in good shape. A tree needs cleared on the maintenance road and some gravel needs ordered. The residents in attendance questioned the board about the excessive speed of vehicles on the Olson Road. They were told it was a county road so their concerns should be taken to the county. They were also informed which roads belonged to the township. (2.15 miles)
Hospital – Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann reported the Grand Rapids hospital joined Wilderness Health Organization and has increased the organizations size. Grand Itasca handles about 60% of the number of patients that St. Luke’s does. The latest CNA class will be completed in June.
Cemetery – A motion was made by Supervisor Chapman seconded by Supervisor Fulcher to add to the
cemetery rules and prices the current burial prices of $400 for a casket and $75 for a urn. Motion carried
unanimously. Jay Brunner will contact Chairman Aho with plans for the church ramp.
Joint Powers Board – More grant applications have been submitted. Some smaller grants have been
Planning and Zoning – St. Louis County will have meetings this summer to present their land use plan.
Hall – Jay Brunner has window estimates for the hall. Supervisor Fulcher presented estimates for new appliances for the hall. Treasurer Brunner posted a need for a good used refrigerator, stove and microwave for the hall on facebook.
Supervisor Fulcher attended the St. Louis County Assoc. of Townships Meeting. The new county building which will be in the Disability Specialist office is a 20 million project and will house 75 employees. June 13 Clerk Chapman will attend a clerk election training workshop. June 28 is the MAT Short course in Duluth.
The next regular board meeting is July 10, 2018 7 pm at the town Hall.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to adjourn at 8:00 p.m.. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher.
