Field Township Regular Board Meeting November 12, 2019
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., November 12, 2019 at the Clerk’s residence.
Present: Supervisors Keith Aho, Tom Chapman, Keith Fulcher, Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann, Treasurer Ellie Brunner, Clerk Pat Chapman and one township resident.
The minutes of Field Township’s regular board meeting held October 17, 2019 were read and stand as presented.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:
Beg. Balance: $ 83,367.50 • Ending Balance: $80,651.55
Receipts: $418.25 • Plus Outstanding Checks: $580.64
Disbursements: $3,134.20 • Total Per Bank Statement: $81,232.19
Motion made by Supervisor Fulcher, seconded by Supervisor Chapman, to approve the treasurer’s report, claims and net pay distribution report. Motion carried unanimously.
Fire – No report.
Ambulance – Supervisor Chapman gave the ambulance report for October. There were 2 runs in Field. In service training for November will focus on burn management and care of the injured hunter. There are 11 active EMTs and 4 active First Responders.
Road and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported the roads were snowplowed and in good shape
Hospital – Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann reported the special hospital handicap conversion van was totaled in a deer accident. A new one will be purchased after insurance settlement. 16 job openings were posted at the time of October’s board meeting. Karen Baxter is interested in representing Northwest Unorganized Township area on the hospital board.
Cemetery – No report.
Joint Powers Board – The Timberjay printed several articles about the school forest project which is on township land. Chairman Aho has represented the township working with the North Woods School.
Planning and Zoning – No report.
Township resident Elizabeth Chapman will provide the board with more information on the broadband study.
Supervisor Fulcher introduced a resolution to approve the Resolution Designating Annual Polling Place, a motion to approve the resolution was made by Supervisor Chapman seconded by Chairman Aho. Resolution passed unanimously. The polling place continues to be the Field Town Hall.
Clerk Chapman and Election Judge Dawn Simpson will attend training for the Presidential Primary December 10 in Virginia.
Supervisor Fulcher attended the October 23, 2019 St Louis County Assoc. of Township meeting in Cotton. A representative from Enbridge gave an update on the Line 3 Pipeline. It is possible for construction to begin June 2020 with construction taking 6-9 months.
Also, a representative from the 2020 Census Dept. reported $65 billion has been funded for the census. The census forms will be mailed out in February. 2232 employees will be hired. The association passed a resolution to oppose the introduction of Elk to Northeastern MN.
The next meeting will be the regular board meeting, December 10, 2019, 7 pm, at the Clerk’s residence.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to adjourn at 7:58 p.m.. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher.
