Field Township Regular Board Meeting October 17, 2019
The re-scheduled meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., October 17, 2019 at the Clerk’s residence.
Present: Supervisors Keith Aho, Tom Chapman, Keith Fulcher, Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann, Treasurer Ellie Brunner, Clerk Pat Chapman and one township resident.
The minutes of Field Township’s regular board meeting held September 10,2019 were read and stand as presented.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:

Motion made by Supervisor Chapman, seconded by Supervisor Fulcher, to approve the treasurer’s
report, claims and net pay distribution report. Motion carried unanimously.
Fire – No report. Supervisor Chapman will contact the department.
Ambulance – Supervisor Chapman gave the ambulance report for September. There were 6 runs in Field Township. The ambulance director attended the Leader Dev. Course in Alexandria. There are 15 EMTs, 13 of which are active. 5 First Responders, 3 active.
Road and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported he drove the roads and they were acceptable. South Riddell Road was graded by the county.
Hospital – Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann reported the Health Fair was successful with 227 attendees. The IT/Security Director gave an update on system security. Medical records which contain complete personal information are valuable to cyber thieves. System update is in planning. Dr. Vidor has agreed to take the position of Care Center doctor effective October 1. Board members have been asked to have a backup member who might fill in during an absence. Rep. Enzmann suggested Tammy Palmer.
Cemetery – No surveying has been done yet. Chairman Aho noted the new building is too high off the ground.
Joint Powers Board – Chairman Aho reported the trail is being used by the school. Supervisor Chapman made a motion to have No Hunting signs posted on the property, seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously.
Planning and Zoning – The board had no objections to the proposed revisions to the St. Louis County Zoning Ordinance 62 concerning permitting short term vacation home rentals. A blight ordinance was also discussed but the consensus was it would be difficult to enforce.
Supervisor Fulcher attended the legal seminar in Cotton October 5. Information on roads, annexing and township laws was presented.
Elizabeth Chapman gave the board information on the status of high speed internet in the area. Morcom Township received high speed internet through a fiber line from Side Lake. She said a township would need to do a door to door survey of residents to determine the services they would want and what they would be willing to pay. This information could be presented to the internet provider to start a feasibility study. She will contact Morcom Township to get more information and report to the board.
The next meeting will be the regular board meeting, November 12, 2019, 7 pm, at the Clerk’s residence.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to adjourn at 8:07 pm. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher.
