Field Township Regular Board Meeting September 8, 2020

The meeting was called to order at the home of the Clerk (to facilitate a Zoom meeting) at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Supervisors Keith Aho,(via Zoom) Tom Chapman, Keith Fulcher, Treasurer Ellie Brunner, Clerk Pat Chapman, Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann(via Zoom)

The minutes of Field Township’s regular board meeting  held August 18 ,2020 were read and stand as presented.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:

Disbursements: $3,079.02           Check numbers 6191-6206     

Motion made by Supervisor Chapman, seconded by Supervisor Fulcher , to approve the treasurer’s report, claims and net pay distribution report. Motion carried unanimously.

Committee Reports:

Fire – No report.

Ambulance – No report.

Road and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher reported the roads are in good shape.  

Hospital – Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann reported Scenic Rivers is now having COVID testing done by Mayo Clinic for faster turn around time. The trauma audit team was satisfied with corrective actions and there will now be a 3 year audit interval. The 2021 levy passed unanoumsly.. Levy is the same at $1,490.000 – $300k for Care Center, $313k for Hospital , $725k for capital, $152 for ambulance.

Cemetery – Joel Knutson reported his family will have a funeral service outdoors at the cemetery on September 12. Barb Boutto will have a service for her mother in the church on September 27.

Chairman Aho spoke to Galen Twite about his cemetery plot.

Joint Powers Board – No report. 

Planning and Zoning – No report.

Hall – No report.

Broadband – Elizabeth Chapman reported we would know if the grant was approved mid- December or January. Field Township has high priority to receive broadband.

Old Business:

Supervisor Fulcher reported that sending postcards to voters about voting in the March township elections might be more beneficial than for the general election at this time since voters are getting so much political mail already.

New Business:

The board reviewed Resolution No. 2020-1 for appointment of election judges.

The Clerk had one call about absentee voting. 

Supervisor Fulcher made a motion to hold the monthly board meetings from October – February at the

Clerk’s residence, 9998 East Lind Rd., Angora.  Seconded by Supervisor Chapman, motion carried unanimously. The next meeting will be October 13, 2020 7 pm. 

Supervisor Chapman made a motion to adjourn at 7:48 p.m.. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher.
