MINUTES OF FIELD TOWNSHIP’S Re-organizational / Board of Qualification Meeting  March 17, 2015

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Keith Aho at 7:04 p.m., March 17, 2015 at the Field
Town Hall.
Present: Supervisors Keith Aho, Tom Chapman, Keith Fulcher, Treasurer Ellie Brunner, Clerk Pat Chapman. Absent: Hospital Representative Mike Enzmann.
The minutes of Field Township’s regular board meeting (which included the board of audit) held
February 17, 2015 were read and stand as presented. The minutes of the 2015 annual meeting were
read and stand as noted. Minutes will be approved at the 2016 annual meeting.

Treasurer’s report from Treasurer Ellie Brunner:
Beg. Balance: $ 39,110.38 Checkbook Balance: $48,059.60

Disbursements: $37,944.24

Motion made by Supervisor Chapman seconded by Supervisor Fulcher to approve the treasurer’s report, claims and net pay distribution report. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Supervisor Fulcher, seconded by Supervisor Chapman to allot $500.00 for new printers for clerk and treasurer.

Committee Reports:
Fire –Report was given at annual meeting.
Ambulance – Report was given at annual meeting.
Road and Bridges – Supervisor Fulcher will schedule a future road review.
Hospital – Report was given at annual meeting.
Cemetery– The board discussed the reproduction of the portrait for the Little Fork Lutheran Church. There was favorable comment about this from residents at the annual meeting. Donors would pay for the reproduction and the township would pay for the frame. Supervisor Chapman will make some contacts about the frame work. Areas of the cemetery need re-seeded. Contacts will also be made to hire a caretaker. Koskovich might be available as sexton. There was discussion about a shed. Is Jay Brunner still interested in the project? Supervisor Fulcher will get an estimate to finish the foyer of the church. Superivsor Chapman will make contacts about trim, ceiling, window work. (Perhaps using stencils for windows.) The clerk will check on insurance coverage for the inside of the church.($2000?)
Joint Powers Board – Chairman Aho will meet with ISD 2142 on March 19 concerning the school forest. There should be more information coming concerning the Vermilion Trail. Only a small portion is in Field Township.
Planning and Zoning – No Report.
New Business:
Clerk Chapman gave the oath of office to re-elected Treasurer Ellie Brunner and Supervisor Aho.
Supervisor Furcler will get facts and figures about purchasing 911 signs for the township. The county will provide the signs for the residents on the newly named Three Bridges Road.
Supervisor Chapman made a motion to donate $500 to the St. Louis County Fair Association Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously. Supervisor Chapman made a motion to donate $500 to the Cook Public Library. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously.
The board requested Tammy Palmer attend the April board meeting to see what other townships have donated and what the approved community uses will be for the new community center.

The designated depositories are: First National Bank of Cook and Cook Area Credit Union.
The official publications are the Cook News Herald and the Timberjay.
Daily rental for the town hall will be $20.00. per day with a $20.00 refundable damage deposit. A $20.00 utility rate will be charged October 1 – May 1. No charge if the group is a local community oriented organization. The board approves all use and additional use negotiable with the board. The clerk or supervisor will give hall user instructions, checking the hall before and after. The Little Fork Lutheran Church is also available for rental during summer months for $20 per day plus $20 refundable deposit.
A motion was made by Supervisor Chapman to accept the revised language. Seconded by Supervisor Fulcher. Motion carried unanimously.

The next regular board meeting will be April 14, 2015, 7 p.m. at the Field Town Hall.
