At the August 8, 2023 regular meeting the Field Town
Board met with representatives from Paul Bunyan
Communications, IRRR, and ST. Louis County to discuss
installation of fiber optic broadband hard lines for the
township area. Paul Bunyan will be looking at properties to
determine population density along the proposed route.
This information will determine the plan going forward.
There are state, county and IRRR grant funds available for
broadband projects.
The town board will be discussing the project further at the
regular board meeting September 12, 7 p.m. at the town
hall.
Public comments are welcome on the township website or
the Paul Bunyan Communications Facebook page where
there will also be updates on the project.
